COMMENT ON HEARING BILL MOYER’S REMINDER OF THE ABRAMOFF SCANDALS IN WASHINGTON

It continues to amaze me that Republicans continue to claim they are high and mighty on crime control.  Yet, a single congressman or, for that matter, a single CEO like those at Enron can steal more than all the bank robbers and all the welfare “cheats” who ever existed combined together.  Apparently, there are no crimes except sex and drug ones.

COMMENT ON HEARING OF THE CHURCH SHOOTING OF LIBERALS

Timothy McVey, Jim Adkisson, Bruce Ivins, George Bush, Dick Cheney.  All responsible for unprovoked mass deaths of others.  All angry white guys.  McCain zealots want us to subliminally fear Osama because he’s black.  Shouldn’t we fear McCain because he’s angry and white?

COMMENT ON THE MCCAIN ATTACK ADS CLAIMING OBAMA IS AN EMPTY CELEBRITY LIKE PARIS HILTON AND BRITNEY SPEARS

How about a political ad juxtapositioning McCain with celebrities who are more like McCain than Spears and Hilton are like Obama? For instance, show scowling McCain sandwiched by the famous police arrest photo of Nick Nolte and the video of drunken David Hasselhoff crawling on the floor.  In other words, famous angry violent white guys just like McCain.

Or, we could mirror the McCain ad for its racist aspects.  How about celebrity Reverends Jeramiah Wright and Jesse Jackson bookending McCain showing celebrities of a different color from the candidate who are equally shorted sighted and bigots?

Better yet, how about McCain embracing the biggest most unworthy celebrities of all, George Bush and Dick Cheney?

COMMENT ON THE FBI SLOWNESS IN FINDING THE ANTHRAX MAILER

Have we forgotten that the Keystone Kop descendants known as the FBI recently had to pay millions to an Oregon attorney because they bungled even a simple fingerprint identification and mistakenly arrested and labeled him as a terrorist involved in a Spanish train attack?

It’s been seven years folks, nearly the amount of time that our equally clueless, Bungler-in-Chief has been in office, about the same amount of time he hasn’t captured Osama bin Laden as he promised.

Hmmm, perhaps that explains it.  The FBI simply didn’t want to show up their boss by demonstrating any sort of competence.

COMMENT ON CONVICTION OF OSAMA BIN LADEN’S DRIVER OF “WAR CRIMES”

If a taxi driver is a “war crimes” criminal for his driving supposedly providing “material support to terrorists,” then surely Bush, the biggest recruiter for terrorists ever, deserves to share a jail cell with him.

COMMENT ON THE REACTION TO EDWARDS CHEATING ON HIS WIFE

Once again, the only crime Republicans and Main Stream Media recognize is a sex crime.

Rape the environment? Loot the Treasury? Dump the wife for someone richer to finance the campaign?  Violate oaths of office?  Ignore codified rules and regulations and laws with open arrogance?  Lie to just about everyone on just about everything?  Kill women and child by the container load?  Heck, boys will be boys.

But, consensual sex between an adult male and an adult female.  String him up!  That’s IMMORAL.

COMMENT ON THE CLAIM THAT FOREIGN POLICY IS MCCAIN’S STRONG POINT

The fed-up people of Pakistan finally told their Generalisimo Musharraf “Resign or be impeached.” Wouldn’t it be nice if America had a great tool like that to get rid of tyrants?  Oh wait.  We do.

COMMENT ON CURRENT VACATION OF BUSH

Bush has taken more time off in office than any two or three other Presidents put together.  I used to begrudge him goofing off from work while the rest of the nation had to struggle to find decent work.  Now I’ve changed my mind.  It is my fervent prayer that he take the next six months off entirely.  Do nothing Mr. Bush.  Please.  Nothing at all!  Stay at your ranch and work on your tan. Your goofing off we can survive.  It’s your trying to do the job that worries me.

COMMENT ON BUSH’S LIKELY RESPONSE TO THE RUSSIAN INVASION OF GEORGIA

There is not the slightest chance that Bush will confront Russia in a way that might initiate military action like he did in Iraq or Afghanistan.  Bush is a personal coward.  He won’t do anything that puts him personally in harm’s way which is why he hide out in the Vietnam war and explains why he invaded Afghanistan and Iraq instead of North Korea, the one member of the so-called Axis of Evil that demonstrably possessed weapons of mass destruction supposedly justifying invasion.  The difference is that although he loudly claimed otherwise, we have since learned Bush was secretly confident neither Iraq nor Afghanistan actually had WMDs which could be torched near the White House whereas both North Korea did.  So does Russia.  Lots of them.  And, as with any playground bully like Bush, he may bluster a lot, but he will never ever take on anyone his own size who could physically hurt him.

COMMENT ON HEARING THE PAKISTANIS FORCED THEIR GENERAL MUSHARRAF OUT OF OFFICE

The fed-up people of Pakistan finally told their Generalisimo Musharraf “Resign or be impeached.” Wouldn’t it be nice if America had a great tool like that to get rid of tyrants?  Oh wait.  We do.

COMMENT ON HEARING THE UN CRITICIZED THE US FOR KILLING 76 AFGHAN CIVILIANS WITH AIR ATTACKS

Former bomber jock McCain no doubt is saying, “So what.”  Since he routinely killed others for a living until he screwed up and got shot down, it is hard to imagine him believing the deaths of innocent women and children as being anything other than inconvenient.

COMMENT ON LEARNING THE REPUBLICAN VP CHOICE

I have been trying to find an acceptable excuse for my Conservative friends so they won’t be totally embarrassed by their vote for the angry old white guy with the rich hottie wife.  I finally found a legitimate one they can use to explain why they would do that in spite of the massive number of reasons why they should not.

And, no the reason is not the semi-sexy VP and candidate for third wife he just chose.

A president’s pension currently is $191,300 per year. Assuming the next president lives to age 80. Sen McCain would receive ZERO pension as he would reach 80 at the end of two terms as president.  Sen Obama, in contrast, would be retired for 26 years after two terms and would receive $4,973,800 in pension.

Therefore it might make economic sense to elect McCain in November.

Of course, if McCain doesn’t “win” the Iraq war soon as he keeps promising and if it lasts another 8 years (that’s 96 in dog and Republican years), then the three trillion dollar additional war cost might offset that somewhat.
